Cotton Fabric for Tote Bags — Manufacturer & Exporter

Tote and shopper bags want a cloth that holds its shape empty, folds flat, and takes print or a dyed shade cleanly. Weight is chosen for how the bag is used: giveaway totes run light, grocery and book totes run heavy.

What we recommend

Cotton Canvas220–340 g/m² (6.5–10 oz) · 58–63 in

The workhorse tote weight — structured enough to stand up, still comfortable to carry and sew.

Finish: RFD for local print, or piece-dyed

Cotton Duck170–240 g/m² (5–7 oz) · 58 in

Lighter single-fill duck for promotional and event totes where cost per unit and print area matter more than load rating.

Finish: RFD

Recycled Cotton & RPET Canvas220–320 g/m² · 58 in

For programmes with a recycled-content requirement; declarations arranged at order stage.

Finish: Piece-dyed

Common questions

What weight canvas is best for a tote bag?

6.5 to 10 oz (about 220–340 g/m²) covers most totes. Go to 12–16 oz for grocery and heavy carry, and 5–7 oz for light promotional bags.

Can you supply RFD so we print locally?

Yes. RFD by the roll from 100 m greige equivalent, so you control print and shade in your own market with no per-colour minimum.
